Single Leg Glute Bridge with Flutter Kick- This exercise simultaneously strengthens the hip flexor and the glutes. It can be used as a starting exercise to prepare for more orthopedically stressful movements, or it can remain a stand alone exercise and further advanced using resistance bands.
