What is a Good First Step to Reading Labels?

A good first step in selecting foods is to begin by identifying:
​

1. How many servings are in each container
2. Calories per serving
3. If any trans fats are present also labeled as hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils (to learn more about fats click HERE)

A good second step is understanding your necessary carbohydrates, saturated fat, protein, and sugar... to be continued.
